ILLINOIS QUGA AWARDED GRANT FUNDING FOR CONSERVATION LANDOWNERS

Happy 2019! Quail and Upland Game Alliance (QUGA) has good news! The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) Habitat Funds Grant Program has awarded QUGA grants to help landowners/producers with conservation on the ground. Attached are applications for the Bonus and Pheasant Programs, Funding for this program comes from the sale of Habitat Stamps to sportsmen. A partnership project with the USDA to fund a one-time incentive payment of $120.00 per acre to local landowners for their voluntary enrollment in the federal State Acres for Wildlife (SAFE) program as part of the USDA Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). A 25% match is needed for this grant. This grant funding applies to ILLINOIS only.

Bonus Incentive Payments to landowners/producers for completing habitat practices on CPR and Non-CRP acreage in 20 Illinois counties that are game bird range areas. Please see the attached Bonus Brochure for a list of approved practices. A 25% match is needed for this grant.

Pheasant Stamp Fund Incentive Payments to landowners/producers in the Illinois Pheasant Range for completing wildlife friendly habitat practices. Please see the attached Pheasant Brochure for a list of approved practices.
