Welcome North Central Illini Chapter to the
Quail and Upland Game Alliance (QUGA) Covey!
QUGA is proud to announce North Central Illini Chapter has been added to QUGA with the goal to influence natural habitat, educational youth experiences in conservation and wildlife management in Illinois!
The “North Central Illini Chapter – QUGA” representing Henry County and surrounding counties in Illinois. President Chad Winter stated, “I have always had a passion for wildlife, deer and birds in particular. This passion has fostered my dream of creating the North Central Illini Chapter of QUGA with a great friend of mine, Jerry. I’m excited to see our North Central Illini Chapter develop and grow. I’m even more excited to bring our natural habitats back to the area. I plan to get the youth involved and help them develop a love for wildlife. I believe it’s very important for our youth to have beneficial paths and I see this to be a great avenue for them. I look forward to bringing opportunities to all of our youth, men and women
QUGA Regional Director, Jerry Johnson said,” With the help of this new chapter, quail, pheasants, deer, turkey and other species including the monarch butterfly will benefit from this chapters work and result in a successful hunting seasons. We are looking forward to a successful membership fundraiser this spring that will enable this chapter to help preserve wildlife habitat”.
The Quail and Upland Game Alliance (QUGA) maintains chapters throughout the Midwest serving Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky. QUGA Membership chapters are involved with hunting, gun raffles, auctions, youth hunts, dog trials, hunter safety courses, habitat management and more. Quail and Upland Game Alliance (QUGA) is the fastest growing outdoor interest group whose mission is to conserve and establish conservation for upland wildlife. A non-profit 501(c) 3 organization, the Quail and Upland Game Alliance was formed to promote the establishment, restoration and maintenance of quail and upland game habitat. Increasing habitat boosts quail and all upland game populations, which in turn benefits the overall health of the environment, instilling a lifelong appreciation for wildlife and the environment as a whole. That’s why youth education is an important part of what we do at QUGA. We are proud of our organizational structure, which empowers chapters to make their own decisions and maintain their own budgets.
